W8 Christmas tree farm
Project In Early Stages - I was asked by local clients to create a simple site for their Christmas tree farm and Christmas store.
I decided to create a clean and modern look, including nuanced shades of the typical red and green to add some elegance while maintaining the holiday feel.

Christian Care Communities & Services
CCC&S offers multiple living options for seniors within the DFW area and Allen, TX.
I was brought onto the project as an independent contractor and tasked with restructuring the site to make it more easily accessible to users and remove issues with user flow. The complex nature of the site meant we had to figure out a way to allow people to navigate to multiple locations, as well as navigate information on the various living options within each of those locations.
I was able to significantly reduce the number of pages, as well as structure user interactions so that site visitors could navigate to any area of the site from whichever page they were currently on. I also targeted user interactions and the logic of page structure to better suit the multiple audiences visiting the site, including people seeking a place to live as well as their families.
I created user flows and profiles. I also assisted the lead designer with developing the tab system used on desktop which helped with both ease of navigation as well as the reduction of pages. I lead the design of the mobile version, creating mockups and meeting with developers to explain how the interactions should play out.

Refuge Ranch
Refuge Ranch offers refuge away from the stresses of modern life through simplicity. I was asked to design the website from the ground up. The owners wanted the website to be impactful while also showcasing warmth, simplicity, and a gender-neutral palette.
I interviewed the owners concerning the services offered as well as needs and goals of the business. I also asked them to explain how they saw the mission of Refuge Ranch. I utilized their descriptions to create a simple information architecture as well as language that expressed the purpose of the ranch in a way that is simple and easy to understand.
This is only a sampling of the full interactive prototype build. The rest will be added to the completed projects section once live. I will be building this out on Wix as that is the publisher the owners wish to utilize.

Refuge Ranch demo created with Axure showcasing the "Home", "About", and "Weddings" pages.
Abilene Fresh
Abilene Fresh is a local food hub which gathers and sells fresh, naturally grown produce from regional farms. They requested a clean, modern look using black and white and a strong accent color. The vibrant orange I chose pays homage to the agricultural focus without veering into Halloween territory. I decided to use aspects of the carrot logo as a part of the design as it’s stylized geometric shape was reminiscent of Art Deco, matching well with the formal black and white blocked sections.
As a part of this project, I also redesigned the information architecture, prepared and executed content strategy, and performed an accessibility audit.
The timeframe for this project is a short six weeks and is designed for an easy transition into Squarespace which houses the current Abilene Fresh site. This is only a sampling of the full site redesign which will be added to the “Projects” section of this site once completed.

Awesome Bad Clothing Co.
Awesome Bad Clothing Co. provides custom designs, bulk printing, embroidery services, and customized promotional materials for businesses using high-quality products at competitive prices. I was asked to do a complete redesign of their existing site including look and feel, as well as information architecture, copywriting, and content strategy,
After conducting a content inventory and interviewing the company owners, the following major needs were identified:
1. Help users more easily view featured items
2. Clarify the ability to add multiple orders for a single item
3. More clearly identify the multiple services offered (Screen Printing and Embroidery, Graphic Design, Promotional Materials)
4. Promote Awesome Bad Clothing as a “one-stop shop” that saves the customer money through bundling services via best cost for the quality, as well as offering cheaper prices for certain services to encourage full buy-in (i.e. graphic design is only $100)
5. Better utilize the available space for promoting services, items, testimonials, and about info
6. Make requesting a quote more streamlined so users can more easily make a request for multiple items and / or services
To better utilize space, as well as more clearly outline the types of services offered and how these services coincide, I simplified the IA. I provided room to showcase new products and deals. I also more concisely highlighted Awesome Bad’s focus on being veteran-owned, promoting how coming from a military background positively affects business practices and deliverables.
The owners are wanting to transfer the site to Squarespace once the redesign is complete, so from the available fonts I chose Freight Sans Pro for headers and FF Tisa Sans Pro for the body copy. This combo creates a clean, masculine look, fitting the company’s aesthetic without sacrificing legibility.
I offered two color palates, one utilizing a darker shade of army green, and this one utilizing black and gray. The owners chose the black and gray. I also chose a strong red with a brown tint that feels gritty and powerful without being overbearing or cartoony, especially juxtaposed against the black. Finally, I added as an accent color for headers and buttons a yellow-green which is earthy and serves as a sort of homage to both the U.S. army’s use olive drab as well as the U.S. military’s traditional use of khaki as a form of camouflage.
Currently, I am in the process of conducting user testing to verify the usefulness and precision of the current IA. I am also continuing to build out the prototype, making changes as needed as this project has a rather short turn-around.
Once the full prototype has been approved, along with the copy provided by myself based on the needs, goals, and information given to me via the company owners and user testing results, I will build out the final iteration in Squarespace to be handed off to Awesome Bad Clothing Co. for future and ongoing maintenance.
Once this project is complete, the full prototype, along with a detailed explanations of steps taken and design decisions will be added to the “Projects” portion of this website.

Photogenetix
This is a simple homepage design I created using a layout I designed to highlight a camera shop’s latest lineup and featured items. It also contains strong calls to action, media buttons, and a newsletter.
